2006 Women and Sports Award Recipient for Grassroots Development

Ms. Mary Ong Tin Nee

Mary Ong, as she popularly known, has devoted more than 30 years to developing and guiding young boys and especially girls to become age-group, Sukma, state and international stars. She developed the MPPJ squash programme to become one of the best grassroots programmes in the country and become an endless reservoir of young talent. She also developed the MILO All Stars International Junior Championships which today attracts a couple of hundred girls from all over Malaysia and from other countries. She is currently enjoying her retirement developing squash centers for young all over Selangor.
